A specialist SEN school in Southwark is looking for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and develop its special educational needs provision. Role Highlights:
- Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective interventions
- Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, ensuring compliance with SEN legislation
- Provide training and support to staff to enhance inclusive teaching practices
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as needed
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams to ensure holistic student support
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to student success
Experience & Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it) preferred
- Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role within a specialist or mainstream setting
- Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP procedures
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external professionals
- Enhanced DBS check required
